yah, doesn't seem to be many people around.  by the looks of it this one is going to be a little smaller gathering than the last one. 

By the by...does anybody know how to run the mods that you download for BF2.  I downloaded one to test and I installed it fine...it all shows up in the mod folder but I can't figure out how to run it.  you guys know??

I haven't run any mods in BF2...I'm surprised its harder than BF1942.  Regarding bots, unless you have a dedicated server program, you won't be able to put bots in, it would have to be available in single player mode.

As far as i know you can boot in to just like in bf2 and i dont recall now how to switch mods while the game is running

There has to be a way to switch over to a mod somewhere in games...but the only way I have found to switch to a mod is by starting up a dedicated server...I think once someone has a server up and running trying to join the server will switch you to the mod if you have it installed...kinda wierd...from the dedicated server screen there are bot options but no matter how I set them it doesn't seem to make any difference....I am thinking it won't populated bots until there are at least 2 people in the game.  I did get into the single player on it which only has like 3 of the 2 dozen or so maps available.  The system is deffinatly different. 

When you are need death you start going all delirious and stuff....pretty cool looking.  If you guys want to try it I am going to burn it on a couple of disks.  I think to night I am going to dounload some of the other mods and try them out as well.

I think you guys will like this mod farly well as long as we play on the smaller maps.  The 32 and 64 player maps are a bit large......and I mean...BIG....

Hey Ronin.  My brother said that he was interested in playing with us.  They only problem is that he doesn't want to dismantle his computer cause it is hooked up with pretty much everything else in his house.  He was wondering if it would be possible for him to remotely join.  I don't know how to do that crap but he does and wanted to know if you would be interested in setting something like that up or if you even has the capabilitie of setting something like that up...

Got an opinion on that??

Well...there are ways...it would involve in the very least opening up ports on my firewall specifically for whatever game we're playing.  Unless he's got a copy of HL2, he would be left out of that.  Another option would be creating a VPN tunnel to my house, but I don't have a VPN router.  This is all forgetting that I've never set anything like that up before, and have only done slightly similar things with enterprise grade routers/firewalls.  Hypothetically speaking, yes, it's possible, but take the typical hassle of hooking everyone up when they're local and multiply it by about a thousand.  If he really can't tear everything down, I may have a spare machine (my laptop).  He'd probably want to bring an LCD or use one of my 17" CRTs, and his own keyboard/mouse.  I'll keep you up to date on whether or not its going to be available.

Yea you can switch between mods under the community screen i think the tab is like custom games. 

 

I looked in to it again and if you go in o community there is a cutom game type thing you caan click on and it ill give you a list of all the mods you have installed.

ok.  I will let him know.  I will see what he thinks of using a laptop....I know he has a laptop but it is a relaly old one and probably wouldn't run either HL2 or BF2.  and yes he doesn have boht HL2 and BF2....I am pretty sure he has CS:Source.

ugh... ANYWAYS...

HP Labtop. Anyone can use. Im sure it can run anything... but... haha it maybe slow. Anything that needs moved off of it i can to my removable hard drive. which is 250GB... full of music. Thats about it on it. It currently has StarCraft and BF2. It's a pretty high computer. But not that high. So we'll try it out for ever needs it. IT NEEDS A MOUSE. USB!!! You're welcome...

Desktop. I'll be using my own. With flat screen monitor. HAHA :]
20gig hard drive... but still have a removeable hard drive.
Friday I'm taking that day. Which i have off. Thank God. Which im going to install all that i need. Last minute... yea i know. im such a slacker.

Brian is thinking of not coming cuz of just all going to be mods. i think its also cuz he doesnt have a ride. Also thinking he's stressing with the moving and his apartment stuff. Taking over it with 2 other friends. My car is out... 

wish I had a flatscreen....oh well.  I guess I will just ahve to deal with taking up an entire table...lol
