But it has so much potential!!  I bet that engine bay (we are talking about your Ranger, right?) has enough room to stuff a blown 302 in there...talk about a sleeper. Big Smile

Having driven both your vehicles, I do have to say that Joe Cool's is worse...but the consolation prize is all yours!  You may collect your swift kick in the pants whenever you like! Wink

I'd like to nominate mine. It is in the shop right now because it was leaking oil, apparently it has a pair of leaks. At least it's all under warranty and I got a decent rental as a loaner (a newer Chevy Silverado).

When you kill me I will become more powerful then you can ever imagine.

    Re: Who's vehicle sucks?

Lol i feel yea joe i got a 1989 Pontiac 6000 le considering it is near 200k miles it still runs like a champ but i have had many things go wrong with it and some still wrong with it. Like the leaking oil pan. needing to replace the front struts, getting it aligned right. And of not to metion the paint is less the new looking. Just got it back from the shop bout 2 months ago now. At the it was having some timing issues, as it turned out iafter 3 weeks and $500 to be a $12 faulty o2 sensor. But thats just the way cars are.

To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.

Considering the law of diminishing returns, you might want to consider getting a new car, dude. Smile

No its mine. POS Chevy Camaro. Stock. 1978 Z28 with 350HP /w V8. Currently has no paint job and the transmition just went out on it [due to mechanic], some pieces weren't put back on. Missing parts I dont know of, also because of mechanic. I'm not a mechanic. It is now currently in my neighbor's back yard, at the price of a storage, I work for her with tasks that extend more past what a storage costs. I work for her for free, but if I charged I bet I've worked well over what storage price is. Landscape, house cleaning, organizing, and computer repair/maintance. Went off the topic a lil, but im just a lil pissed off how this currently is about this Camaro.

    Re: Who's vehicle sucks?

I hate to break it to you...but your 350HP claim is a bit high.  Like a lot of Camaros for a very long time, it uses a 350 cubic inch engine...which at the time was rated at 155 hp.  I certainly hope whoever sold it to you didn't claim that horsepower figure.

Far be it from me to tell you what to do, but if I may make a couple suggestions.  You have a couple options aside from continuing in the course you have.

    1. Keep the Camaro, but ditch the motor.  You can get an LT1 or LS1 (Camaro engines of the 90s and early 2000s) for probably $500-$2000, depending on age and mileage.  Those will make anywhere from 275 to 325 hp stock.
    2. Ditch the Camaro, buy something else.  You could probably get $500-1000 for it by selling it as a rolling chassis, assuming there's not too much rust.  You're probably on a fairly miniscule budget, so you'd think your options are limited.  There are project cars that can be bought for less than $5k, some less than $3k...that already have working engines, are already faster than the Camaro, and can be made fast...really fast...with another $5k or so.  To list off my favorites, 88-91 Honda CRXs or Civics (CRXs are VERY VERY light...about 1800-1900 lbs); 94-98 Acura Integras; 90-94 Eagle Talon TSi and Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX or GST; 89-91 Mazda RX-7 Turbo; 90-93 Nissan 300zx;  and the 89-94 Nissan 240SX...then if you're still digging the domestics (personal opinion is to stay away...they have longevity issues, especially over 100k miles), 92-95 Camaros, and 94-98 Mustangs.

I'm far from a mechanic myself, but I have a fairly thorough wealth of knowledge on the subject of vehicular performance, and am more than happy to point someone in the best direction for their budget. Smile
